Caffeine Addiction Is Real And It Is Destroying Your Health

This seems to be a scary thought for most people, who don’t look at drinking coffee as a caffeine addiction; they see it as loving coffee or soda. Who seriously gets a caffeine addiction? That’s what happens with drugs, alcohol and pills, not a cup of coffee. Over half the adult population in the US has at least one cup of coffee every day. Drinking that much coffee by the end of the year you have consumed over 10 pounds of coffee.

There are many different effects of caffeine that most are not aware of.

  • Heart disease
  • High cholesterol levels
  • Fluid loss in your body
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • Stroke
  • Damaged blood vessels
  • Insomnia
  • Anxiety symptoms
  • Depleted calcium and iron levels in women

Coffee is reported to be the most commonly consumed psychoactive substance on earth. It is said that humans have been using caffeine since the Stone Age. I find it surprising sometimes that we are typically so careful with what we do to our bodies. Yet we will drink coffee everyday or ingest caffeine and not even think about the effects of caffeine to our bodies. Kids and caffeine is the same, with their desire to consume caffeine, in many different forms. Caffeine addiction is very real and something people don’t want to think about.

I truly feel if more people realized what they were doing to themselves when drinking coffee, and the negative effects on their bodies; they may decide to quit caffeine. Caffeine addiction is very real and it is destroying your health. The negative effects can be great, here are just a few of the health issues you will more than likely face if you continue to use caffeine:

  • Too much caffeine can lead to cardiovascular problems. Your blood pressure and heart rate will increase when you drink coffee. Over time and with an over use of caffeine it can lead to heart disease.
  • Increased risks of gastrointestinal problems occur such as ulcers – due to much caffeine.
  • When you drink coffee it stimulates your stress hormones this can lead to increased anxiety, insomnia and tension. Most people find they have enough stress already in their lives and don’t need to add more.

As you can see there are many different negative effects that caffeine has on the body. From all the negative effects of caffeine that I have seen, it seems the negatives far outweigh the positive. Depending on how much coffee you drink, the effects from it will happen – sooner or later. Naturally the ideal situation would be to quit caffeine all together. Do be careful, as you may experience withdrawals. This will depend on how much you drink and how long you have been doing it. It may take some time to rid you of the caffeine. But there is no doubt when you do you will feel amazing.
